Air - Le Voyage dans la Lune
French ambient electronica band Air impart a cosmic touch to the newly restored color edition of George Méliès’ iconic 1902 film Le Voyage dans la Lune (A Trip to the Moon).
The album came about when the band were asked to score the recently restored 1912 movie by the same name by legendary French director George Méliès. Heralded as not only the first ever Sci-Fi movie but also the first ever cinema Blockbuster, the colour version of the film was long thought destroyed but was found again in the 1990s and underwent a painstaking 10 year process to restore the movie to its original 17 minute glory.
We have a CD + DVD special in the shop that contains the film and the score… score!
