R.I.P. Christopher Reimer

The Calgary Herald reports that Christopher Reimer, guitarist for Calgary band Women, died in his sleep on Tuesday. His cause of death remains unknown. He was 26.

Man, this is so sad. We fucking love that band and placed their album ‘Public Strain’ right at the top of last years best album list.

The Metal Dance collection touches on the dancefloor-oriented sounds that emerged as the industrial influences of Cabaret Voltaire and Throbbing Gristle locked horns with European synth-punk and new wave electronics. Out on Strut Records in February 2012, Metal Dance follows Strut’s foray into the hidden corners of revered Manchester label Factory Records.

Brilliant feature ran this week on the Fader website.

The Lijadu Sisters welcomed us into their home and sang a couple songs. I wish I went round their house… I think they are so unbelievably rad!!!

Album is out now on Soul Jazz, as you’d expect, it is brilliant, vibrant and totally on repeat-play.
